Join in the Success of EnPleinAirTEXAS!
EnPleinAirTEXAS has quickly grown into a nationally respected competition with award-winning artists around the world vying to come to San Angelo to paint and compete. The scenes painted during this event preserve a moment in our history, captured in the creative skills of these artists. The artists donate a significant portion of each painting sold to the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, benefitting arts education for thousands of students and adults in the Concho Valley.
This exciting week of activities, and over $17,000 in prize money, is possible because of committed volunteers and generous financial support from the community. In 2015, local arts patron Elta Joyce McAfee gifted an endowment to the museum ensuring the future of EnPleinAirTEXAS. To honor her parents and family name, the Grand Prize is proudly named "The Elta Joyce Murphey Award".
Patrons of EnPleinAirTEXAS enjoy exclusive events with the artists as well as help support a singular cultural and historical art experience unmatched by any other event in the country.
